Lube with adult sex toys, vibrators, dildos, male sex toys, and female adult toys

Lube Interactions

With all the available lubes today it can seem a bit confusing about what's compatible with what. Fortunately, there are only two main interactions you need to be aware of:

Oil-based products and Latex: Oil-based lubes should be used solely for male masturbation, as oil is unhealthy for the vagina and can lead to infection. For you men, remember that anything containing oil will degrade latex. Avoid anything with oil in the name, such as massage oil. Crisco also contains oils (which we wouldn't recommend in the first place with all the much better lubes on the market). Silicone and water-based lubricants however are both safe and compatible with latex.

Silicone Products with Silicone Lube: Many people love the silky feel and long-term ability of silicone lubes like Eros Bodyglide, especially for anal sex. However, it's important not to mix silicone lubes with silicone products since many silicone toys are incompatible with these lubricants, and the lube can render your favorite toy eternally gelatinous. Some lubricated condoms have silicone as an ingredient, so always check the listing of ingredients before gloving up your toy. Silicone is 100% latex safe.

If you don't want to have to worry about incompatibilities, there are many fabulous water-based lubes available today such as ID Glide and Astroglide that can be used safely with both latex and silicone.
